Life Is Sometimes a Grind for Brooke Shields

March 20, 2017

Ever since childhood, when her career as a model and actress took off, Brooke Shields has enjoyed worldwide recognition — through advertisements for designer jeans, appearances on The Muppet Show, and starring roles in big-screen films. But not long ago, that familiar face was spotted in an unusual place: wearing a nasal anesthesia mask at the dentist’s office. In fact, Shields posted the photo to her own Instagram account, with the caption “More dental surgery! I grind my teeth!” And judging by the number of comments the post received, she’s far from alone.

All Gum Disease Treatments Have the Same Goal – Removing Bacterial Plaque

Periodontal (gum) disease is a serious infection that can damage more than periodontal tissues — supporting bone structure is also at risk. Any bone loss could eventually lead to tooth loss.

To stop it from causing this kind of damage, we must match this disease’s aggressiveness with equally aggressive treatment. The various treatment techniques all have the same goal: to remove bacterial plaque, the source of the infection, from all oral surfaces, including below the gum line. What happened next wasn’t funny: Attempting to remove the cap, Fallon chipped his front tooth, adding another medical problem to the serious finger injury he suffered a few weeks before (the same wound he was trying to take care of with the gel). If there’s a moral to this story, it might be this: Use the right tool for the job… and that tool isn’t your teeth!

Watch Out for Re-Infection After a Root Canal Treatment

February 10, 2017

So, you’ve undergone a root canal treatment to save a decayed tooth. The tooth has a new lease on life — and the pain is gone too. But there’s a reality you need to keep in mind — your tooth could become re-infected, putting you back in the same painful circumstance.

Root canal treatments are often necessary when decay works its way deep within a tooth, into the pulp. The excruciating pain a person feels is the infection attacking the bundle of nerves within the pulp tissue. If the infection isn’t addressed promptly, it will continue to work its way to the root, eventually damaging the tooth beyond repair.

Fifth Harmony’s Camila Cabello Chips a Tooth, but Concert Still “Worth It”

January 26, 2017

Filed under: Uncategorized — tntadmin @ 12:12 am

Everyone loves a concert where there’s plenty of audience participation… until it starts to get out of hand. Recently, the platinum-selling band Fifth Harmony was playing to a packed house in Atlanta when things went awry for vocalist Camila Cabello. Fans were batting around a big plastic ball, and one unfortunate swing sent the ball hurtling toward the stage — and directly into Cabello’s face. Pushing the microphone into her mouth, it left the “Worth It” singer with a chipped front tooth.
